University of Rhode, United States, has conducted research for 21 years by following the flow of the lives of children who are born prematurely. In that period, the researchers found the results quite surprising. Of the 200 children studied premature, it was found that they are more susceptible to disease and prone to disturbances of heart abnormalities than children who are not born prematurely. The researchers also noted that due to health conditions that are not too good, even children born prematurely often have difficulty interacting socially.
Study leader, Professor Mary Sullivan said, especially male babies born prematurely have more problems in learning at a teenager. This is according to him, is the impact of the development of a rudimentary organ at birth.
Professor Mary also stressed that children born prematurely who desperately need love and attention that is greater than children of normal birth. Professor Mary had hoped, by knowing the results of this study, people around these children can provide the best support.
